Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: All boats are insured against third-party liability, damage to hull, machinery and equipment, and sea pollution liability, with a deductible that depends on the yacht's value.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~27 HP engine burns roughly 2.2 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 46 L ≈ €90 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
Can I bring my dog or other pet on board?
Yes, small pets up to 4 kg are allowed. There is an extra fee of twice the cost of the compulsory charter pack, payable at the base.
What sailing experience does my crew need?
At least one person on board must hold a sailing certificate proving skipper competence, and the local Port Authority checks it on departure day. We recommend an International Certificate of Competence (ICC), as Day Skipper certificates can be rejected.
Can I add a skipper, hostess or cook?
Yes, you can add a skipper, a hostess (breakfast and one meal a day) or a cook (breakfast and two meals a day) for a daily rate, plus the cost of their food. Crew services end on the Friday evening when you return to the home port, and a tip of at least 10% of the charter fee is expected.
Are there any extra costs I should budget for on arrival?
Yes. A compulsory charter pack, which varies by boat type and size, plus any optional extras such as a SUP, internet pack or extra linen, is paid in cash at the base before you embark. Fuel, water, berthing fees and provisioning are not included in the charter rate.
Can I have food and drinks ready when I arrive?
You can pre-order groceries and drinks through our e-provisioning service. They are delivered to the boat only after your check-in is complete.
