About this boat

■ ABOUT S/Y “FREEDOM” "FREEDOM" is a Bavaria 44 featuring a timeless sailboat design and exceptional German craftsmanship, fully rebuilt in 2022. The sailboat has 4 cabins and 2 heads, and usually, 6 people stay in 3 of the rooms. The fourth, smallest cabin is used by the skipper. (Additional people can be accommodated by converting the main table in the saloon—this comes at an extra cost, and you should be aware that the boat will feel quite full with this option.) FREEDOM can only be chartered with a skipper, who is also the owner of the sailboat and knows the boat very well. This Bavaria model is one of the most solidly built and is literally a fundamental boat used in the rise of the Croatian yacht charter industry. The sailboat also has an air-conditioned front cabin. ■ AVAILABILITY The sailboat is available for rentals starting on ANY number of days (1 day, 2 days, 3 days, etc.) and on ANY start day—not just from Saturday to Saturday. This is a crucial difference between a sailboat-focused charter company like ours and regular charter companies, which must follow the Saturday-to-Saturday model due to their larger, more rigid maintenance and staffing structures. ■ PRICE A great advantage is that the skipper cost is included in the price (the skipper also does not need food), and there is no transit log. The only things not included in the price are third-party costs such as fuel and yacht marinas. So, even if at first the price may seem higher, in the end, it is actually lower compared to usual yacht charters that add many extra costs (like outboard motor, passenger state taxes, boat cleaning, etc.) ■ WHAT IS INCLUDED AND NOT INCLUDED IN THE CRUISE PRICE? INCLUDED: - The price includes skipper - Use of snorkel equipment - Dinghy - Outboard motor - Bed linen - All local taxes - Final yacht cleaning NOT INCLUDED: - Mooring fees in marinas (125 EUR - 160 EUR per night) - Fuel (depends on wind conditions and selected cruising route) - Food, drinks, and drinking water - Towels - Water taxis (if needed) ■ ITINERARY Based on the number of days, the skipper will suggest the most efficient cruise plans. Before the cruise starts, the skipper will communicate with you to define the cruise plan. ■ CHECK-IN/OUT Your embarkation time is 9:30 am on the first day of rental, and disembarkation time is 6:00 pm on the last day of rental.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~55 HP engine burn roughly 4.4 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 92 L ≈ €172 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
