Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Vessel covered by comprehensive insurance. Charterer's personal belongings and crew not covered; separate insurance advised.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~55 HP engine burn roughly 4.4 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 92 L ≈ €172 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Where can I sail the boat?
You may sail in Croatian waters only. Sailing beyond this area requires a special certificate or permit arranged in advance.
Can I bring my dog on board?
Yes, you can bring a dog as long as you tell us in advance. An extra cleaning charge applies, equal to 50% of the transit log fee.
Are there limits on how I use the boat?
You cannot sublet the boat or hand it to anyone else, carry more people than listed on the crew list, or sail at night in uncertain weather. You are fully responsible for any consequences of breaking these rules.
What should I do if there's damage or a problem while sailing?
Don't carry out any repairs without first getting our consent or instructions. In a major accident or one involving another vessel, report it to us and the harbour authorities and prepare a report with photos for the insurer.
What if I'm delayed returning the boat?
Please plan your route so you can reach the home port on time regardless of weather. If you're delayed, contact us right away; each full hour of late return is charged at 2% of the weekly charter rate.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
