Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver. Operator terms: The refundable security deposit covers damage or loss of the yacht and equipment during the charter.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~110 HP engine burns roughly 8.8 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 185 L ≈ €361 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
What happens if the weather turns bad during my charter?
You're expected to follow the forecast and plan your sailing so you stay safe and can get back on time. In harsh weather you navigate at your own risk, and the Coastguard may charge you for any unnecessary rescue call-out caused by poor seamanship or ignoring conditions.
What if you doubt our sailing experience?
We may require you to hire a skipper if any doubt about your sailing skills arises at embarkation or later during the charter. Port authorities can also ask the skipper for a sailing experience declaration.
Can I charter with a skipper, hostess or cook?
Yes, we can provide a professional skipper for the whole charter, and a hostess or cook too. Fees are agreed in writing beforehand and paid in cash at embarkation. Crew need their own cabin on board, and you provide their daily meals or the equivalent cost.
What happens if I return the yacht late?
Extra charges apply for late returns, as set out in your Charter Party Agreement. You're responsible for allowing for the weather so you can return at the agreed place and time.
How do I pay for extras and the skipper's fee?
Extras and any crew fees are paid in cash when you embark. The charter fee itself is paid by bank transfer.
