Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The price includes compulsory third-party liability insurance, comprehensive (Casco) insurance up to the registered vessel value, and crew accident insurance. Casco covers damage exceeding the deposit but not damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~2020 HP engine burns roughly 161.6 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 3394 L ≈ €6347 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my dog or other pet on board?
Only if we agree to it in advance. Pets aren't allowed without prior permission. If we approve, an extra cleaning fee applies according to the current price list.
Are there limits on how I can use the boat?
Yes. The boat can't be sailed at night, and it can't be used commercially, for fishing professionally, for sailing school, or sub-let or lent to others. You also need our consent to join regattas or races, and towing another boat isn't allowed.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You can sail within Croatian territorial waters. If you want to leave them, you need our prior written consent. Please also don't set off in unsafe weather, poor visibility, or when port authorities have banned departures.
How many people can come aboard?
Only as many as the vessel is registered for, and everyone aboard must be on the crew list. We need that list, with names, birth details, nationality and ID details, at least a week before your trip.
What should I do if something breaks during my charter?
Tell us straight away; the emergency numbers are in the boat's documents. We aim to repair normal wear-and-tear defects within 24 hours. For serious damage or an accident, get our instructions, report to the nearest harbour master's office and keep a record of what happened.
