Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Charterer liable for all damages caused by Charterer's actions/failures, including material and legal expenses.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~27 HP engine burn roughly 2.2 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 46 L ≈ €86 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can we bring a pet on board?
Pets such as dogs, cats or birds aren't allowed on the boat unless we've agreed to it with you in advance, so please ask us before booking if you'd like to bring one.
Are there any restrictions on how we can use the boat?
You can't sublet or re-rent the boat, take part in regattas or races, use it commercially or for professional or night fishing, and night sailing isn't permitted. We also ask that you only sail in safe weather and good visibility.
Where are we allowed to sail?
You're asked to keep within Croatian territorial waters for the duration of the charter.
Will my sailing experience be checked before we set off?
Yes. We reserve the right not to hand over the boat if the person operating it isn't competent, and we may instead require a skipper. You'll need to show you have the navigational skills to handle the boat safely.
How many people can be on board?
The number of people aboard must match the crew list, so please keep your group within the agreed count.
