Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Client responsible for damages not covered by insurance, including intentional damage or gross negligence
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~28 HP engine burn roughly 2.2 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 46 L ≈ €86 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my pet on board?
Pets such as dogs, cats or birds are only allowed on board with our prior permission, so please ask us before you book. If we agree to a pet, an additional cleaning charge applies.
What is expected of the skipper or crew?
You will need to provide a crew list with everyone’s details and the skipper’s licence number at least a week before departure. If we find the person operating the boat doesn’t have the navigation skills required, we may ask a professional skipper to join the crew at an extra cost, or decline to let the boat sail.
Are there any restrictions on how I can use the boat?
The boat is for private leisure cruising only – no commercial use, professional fishing, sailing schools, subletting or lending to others. You also shouldn’t take part in regattas or races, or tow another boat, without our consent, and you must not carry more people than the boat is registered for.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You’re asked to stay within Croatian territorial waters and sail only in safe weather and good visibility; night sailing is not recommended. Leaving Croatian waters is only possible with our prior written consent.
What condition should the boat be left in?
Please return the boat clean and tidy, in the same condition you received it, and take all rubbish off and leave it at the marina’s designated waste area.
