Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The rental price includes boat insurance and mandatory crew insurance for the rental period, subject to the insurer's conditions. The boat, its equipment and crew are insured for all types of damage and loss exceeding the franchise/deposit amount.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~300 HP engines burn roughly 24 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 504 L ≈ €942 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my dog on board?
Unfortunately not. Pets are not permitted on board.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You need to stay within Croatian territorial waters unless you get our special written approval to leave.
Will you check our sailing experience?
Possibly. Our representative may ask whoever is navigating to demonstrate their competence at sea. If they don't satisfy us, we may end the agreement or place a seaman acceptable to both parties on board at your expense for as many days as needed. The test time counts as part of your charter period.
Can I sail in any weather?
Please sail only in favorable weather with good visibility. Insurance covers damage from inclement weather and natural disasters, but not damage from negligent maneuvering.
What should I do if something breaks or there's an accident?
Contact us immediately. If damage comes from unforeseen natural causes, we'll rectify it within 24 hours. For serious accidents, get written documentation from the nearest Port Authority, because late or missing reports can make you liable for the resulting damages.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
