Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The rental price includes boat and crew insurance for the rental period, subject to the insurer's conditions. The boat, equipment and crew are insured for all damage and loss above the franchise/deposit amount, and the boat's guide holds third-party liability insurance.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. Estimated from engine power: at a typical planing cruise this boat's 200 HP engine burns roughly 30 L/h — about €56 an hour at €1.87/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You may sail only in Croatian territorial waters. We also ask that you sail only when weather is favourable and visibility is good.
What happens if bad weather affects my trip?
We aren't responsible for sea conditions or for attractions that close because of the weather, such as the Blue Cave. Damage from inclement weather is covered by the boat's insurance, and you should sail only in favourable conditions.
What sailing experience does my crew need?
You or your skipper must have the navigational skills and the licenses required to sail. If you'd rather not skipper yourself, a skipper or hostess can be added as an optional extra.
What should I do if the boat is damaged or something goes wrong?
Contact us immediately. For serious incidents, also report to the nearest Harbour Office and get written confirmation. If equipment is damaged by natural causes, we will repair it within 24 hours.
What happens if I return the boat late?
A late return is charged at 300% of the daily rate for each day overdue. If you're delayed by force majeure, tell us immediately so it can be taken into account.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
