Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Client responsible for damages up to security deposit amount
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~21 HP engine burn roughly 1.7 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 36 L ≈ €67 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my pet onboard?
Pets such as dogs, cats or birds are only allowed with our prior written consent, so please ask us before your trip.
Will my sailing experience be checked before departure?
We may ask you to demonstrate your competency by sailing the yacht with our representative present. If we feel you may not be able to safely command the vessel, we will arrange a skipper for you, charged per our price list.
Are there limits on where I can sail?
If you wish to sail outside Croatian territorial waters you must tell us in writing at least 45 days beforehand so we can secure the vessel in time, and those extra costs are charged to you. Please also plan your route so that two days before return you are within about 40 nautical miles of the home port.
Is night sailing or racing allowed?
We ask that you avoid night sailing for safety reasons, and taking part in competitions or regattas requires our prior written consent. Please also avoid situations that lead to towing, and arrange a rescue fee before accepting any towing assistance.
What should I do in bad weather?
Please do not leave port if the forecast wind exceeds 25 knots or if the port authorities have issued a warning or prohibition. In gale-force conditions, let us know your exact location so we can assist you.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
