Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The operator insures the yacht against fire and all usual marine and collision risks, including third party risks. A copy of the policy can be inspected at the Home Port.

Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~21 HP engine burns roughly 1.7 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 36 L ≈ €70 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.

No licence is legally required to sail at sea, but charter companies expect an RYA Day Skipper certificate or equivalent (and an ICC for inland waterways).

You can cruise anywhere along the UK South Coast but not beyond it. Night sailing and racing are only allowed with our prior consent, as the yacht is for pleasure cruising.

Your skipper must be over 25 and hold an ICC, Day Skipper or higher qualification, with certificates on hand. You also need a second suitably experienced person aboard, at RYA Competent Crew standard or equivalent, as we don't allow single-handed sailing.

Please don't sail in dangerously bad weather, even if it means returning late. We can also restrict where you sail if conditions call for it. Late-return charges may be waived at our discretion if there was a good reason for the delay.

Tell us as soon as you can and don't start any repairs without our consent. If a critical item such as the engine, sails, rigging or batteries fails and stops you using the yacht, you'll get a pro rata refund. If we agree in advance to you replacing an item that failed through fair wear and tear, we'll reimburse the cost.
