Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: Damage waiver amounts, both refundable and non-refundable, can be paid in cash only.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~54 HP engine burns roughly 4.3 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 90 L ≈ €176 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
Do I need to hire a professional skipper?
No. One member of your crew can act as skipper as long as they hold a valid sailing certificate. If you prefer, you can hire a professional skipper and/or hostess.
Where do a hired skipper or hostess sleep?
If you hire a professional skipper and/or hostess, they use one of the cabins on board. Please keep this in mind when planning how many guests you bring.
How do I pay for extras and crew fees?
Extras, as well as skipper and hostess fees, are paid in cash when you embark. Damage waiver amounts are also cash only.
Which cards can I use for the refundable security deposit?
We accept a valid Visa or MasterCard credit card. Other cards and debit cards can't be used for the deposit.
Does the charter price include VAT?
Yes, the quoted weekly rates include VAT at the current reduced rate of 12%.
