About this boat

Paros puts you right in the Meltemi's path, so this is a crew that wants real sailing, not a drift — open crossings, honest wind, gusty approaches worth the work. Back at marinas each night, provisioning and eating ashore is easy, with room aboard for everyone to spread out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The owner insures the yacht and equipment against fire, marine and collision risks and third-party damage. The charterer is relieved of liability covered by the policy unless the loss or damage was caused or contributed to by gross negligence or willful default.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~54 HP engine burns roughly 4.3 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 90 L ≈ €176 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You must stay within the Greek seas. We also ask you to reach the farthest point of your trip within the first third of the charter. Two days before the end, you should be within 40 nautical miles of the return base.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
For safety, you shouldn't leave a port or anchorage if the wind is or is forecast to be above Beaufort 6, or if the harbour authorities ban sailing. If conditions or the boat's state are doubtful, stay put and reduce sail early if you are at sea.
What sailing experience does my crew need?
Your party must include at least one qualified skipper and one experienced crew member. We may ask you to show your handling and navigation skills on a short sail with us aboard. If we're not satisfied, we may require a seaman aboard at your expense or end the charter.
Are there limits on how I can use the boat?
The yacht is for private pleasure only. Racing, towing other boats (except in an emergency) and subletting without our written consent are not allowed. Sailing at night is only permitted with all navigation lights working and a proper watch on deck.
How many people can come aboard?
No more than the maximum number of persons in the yacht documents may be aboard at sea. Everyone on board must be on your crew/passenger manifest.
