Frequently Asked Questions
Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver. Operator terms: Recommended to have personal travel and health insurance
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~57 HP engine burn roughly 4.6 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 97 L ≈ €181 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my dog or cat on board?
You can bring pets aboard only with the operator's written consent. Make sure to request this when you book.
What happens if bad weather prevents me from returning on time?
Because you need to be within 40 nautical miles of the base two days before your charter ends, bad weather is not accepted as a reason for late return. If you do return late, you'll be charged double the daily rate plus any costs from the operator's inability to hand over the vessel to the next charter.
What if the vessel has a problem during my charter?
You can arrange repairs up to 150 EUR on your own and be reimbursed. If you need repairs beyond that, contact the operator immediately. If repairs take more than 24 hours and you couldn't use the vessel, you may be refunded on a pro-rata basis—but only if the operator failed to maintain the vessel properly.
Can I go night sailing?
No—you cannot sail at night without the operator's prior written consent. Make sure to ask about this before you sail.
What happens if I need to leave early or don't show up?
If you don't show up for check-in or leave before your scheduled check-out date, you lose the entire charter fee with no refund—even if you booked more than a month in advance.
