Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver. Operator terms: Charterer shall carry independent insurance for Personal Effects whilst on board or ashore and for any Medical or Accident expenses. Cancellation and Curtailment insurance not included.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~110 HP engine burn roughly 8.8 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 185 L ≈ €361 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
Can we bring a pet on board?
No animals or pets may be taken aboard without our written consent, so please ask us in advance if you'd like to bring one.
Where are we allowed to cruise?
Cruising is limited to Greek waters, with a small allowance of up to two miles north of Corfu, two miles west of the Ionian islands and two miles south of Zakynthos. Please plan to reach your farthest point in the first third of the charter and be within 40 nautical miles of the return port for the last two days.
How many hours a day can we sail?
Time under way is kept to an average of about six hours per day, unless the captain agrees to exceed it or you arrange otherwise with us. This keeps the pace comfortable and the boat safe.
Are there activities the yacht can't be used for?
The yacht is for your private pleasure only. Please don't use her for racing or for towing other craft except in an emergency, and note that night sailing is not allowed except in an emergency.
Will our sailing experience be checked?
The charter is based on the sailing competence you've stated in writing, and we may ask you and your crew to demonstrate you can handle the yacht safely at sea with one of us aboard. If needed, we can place an experienced sailor on board at your expense.
When is the best time to sail in Greece?
April–October, hot and dry with the strong northerly Meltemi wind peaking in July–August, especially across the Cyclades.
