Frequently Asked Questions
Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Vessel is covered by third-party liability insurance (compulsory) and comprehensive (Casco) insurance up to registered vessel value. Casco covers damage exceeding deposit amount but not damage caused intentionally or due to gross negligence.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~330 HP engine burn roughly 26.4 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 554 L ≈ €1036 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can we bring a pet on board?
Pets such as dogs, cats or birds are only allowed with our prior permission, so please ask before you book. If we agree, an additional cleaning charge applies per our price list.
Are there limits on where we can sail?
You're free to cruise within Croatian territorial waters; leaving them is only possible with our prior written consent. Please sail only in safe weather with good visibility and avoid clearly dangerous areas.
What happens if you feel our skipper lacks the skills to handle the boat?
If we find that the person in charge doesn't have the navigation skills needed to operate the vessel, we can stop the boat leaving and appoint an official skipper to join you, charged per our price list. If that skipper is refused, we may keep the boat ashore.
Is night sailing, racing or towing allowed?
We don't recommend sailing at night, and ask that you don't enter regattas or races without our consent, tow other boats, sub-let or lend the boat, or carry more people than it's registered for.
What condition should we return the boat in?
Please return the boat clean and tidy with the fuel tank full, ready to sail again, just as you received it. Take all rubbish off and leave it in the marina's designated bin area. Note the sails aren't insured, so take care to avoid overloading them.
