Frequently Asked Questions
Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The price includes compulsory third-party liability insurance, comprehensive (Casco) insurance up to the registered value of the vessel, and crew accident insurance. Casco covers damage above the deposit amount, but not intentional damage or gross negligence.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~115 HP engine burns roughly 9.2 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 193 L ≈ €361 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my dog or other pet on board?
Pets are not allowed unless we agree to it beforehand. If we approve, there is an extra cleaning charge according to our current price list.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You can sail within Croatian territorial waters. To go beyond them you need our written consent in advance.
Are there limits on how I can use the boat?
The boat can't be used commercially, for fishing as a business, for sailing schools, or sublet or lent to others. Racing needs our prior consent and towing other boats isn't allowed. Night sailing isn't recommended, and you should only sail in safe weather and good visibility.
What if we don't have enough sailing experience?
If we judge that you or your skipper lack the skills to run the boat safely, we may stop you from departing and assign a skipper at the price-list rate. If you decline the skipper, we can end the contract and keep the amount paid.
How many people can stay on board?
No more than the number the boat is registered for. Everyone staying aboard must be on the crew list, which we need at least 1 week before your charter.
