Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Vessel covered by third-party liability insurance (compulsory) and comprehensive Casco insurance up to registered vessel value. Casco does not cover intentional damage or gross negligence.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~60 HP engine burn roughly 4.8 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 101 L ≈ €189 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my pet on board?
Pets are only allowed with our prior permission, so please ask before you book. If we agree, an additional cleaning fee applies per our price list.
Are there limits on where and how I can sail?
You must stay within Croatian territorial waters unless we give written consent otherwise, sail only in safe weather and good visibility, and not sail at night. The yacht can't be used for commercial purposes, professional fishing, subletting, towing, or regattas without our consent.
Will my sailing skills be checked before departure?
Yes. If we find you lack the skills to operate the yacht safely, we can assign an official skipper for an added fee. If you refuse the skipper, we may prevent the yacht from sailing.
What's included in the charter price?
The price covers the yacht and all its equipment, full fuel at handover, insurance, the home-marina berth, dinghy, kitchen equipment, bed linen, and mooring for the first and last night. Port dues elsewhere, fuel use, marina and buoy fees, transfers, and national park entrance fees are not included.
What should I do if something breaks or there's an accident at sea?
Notify us right away for any wear-related defect, which we'll aim to repair within 24 hours. For a serious accident, record what happened, file a report at the nearest harbour master's office, and inform us immediately. Please also check the engine oil level every day.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
