Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The vessel is insured against third-party damage, fire, lightning, explosion, theft, natural disasters, marine and collision risks, and loss or damage to inventory and equipment. The crew and their luggage are insured.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~120 HP engines burn roughly 9.6 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 202 L ≈ €378 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my dog or other pet on board?
Yes, pets are welcome if each animal weighs no more than 10 kg and you tell us at least 4 weeks before your charter. If the boat needs extra cleaning afterwards, we may charge EUR 350 per week per animal.
Are there limits on how I can use the boat?
The boat is for personal leisure use only. Racing, towing other vessels, sub-chartering, professional fishing, sailing school, paid passenger transport and any commercial use are not allowed, nor is operating the boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You can sail within the territorial sea of Croatia. Going further, or taking a different route, needs the operator's written approval. Please avoid poorly known areas and zones closed to sailing.
Can I sail at night?
Yes, as long as you use all navigational lights and keep a proper lookout. Please keep to safe weather and good visibility.
What happens if bad weather affects my trip or my return?
For your safety, please don't leave port in winds above 30 knots or when the port authorities have banned sailing, and follow the Base Manager's weather instructions. If extreme weather stops you returning on time, you pay the regular daily rate plus 50% for each extra day instead of the standard late penalty.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
