For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: Each yacht has kasko (hull) insurance and compulsory insurance for all passengers. Personal property of the skipper and crew is not insured, so separate insurance is recommended.

Please tell the base manager right away for instructions. If bad weather makes you late, you cover the resulting costs, so plan your route with some safety margin.

If the operator or base manager decides the skipper lacks the needed skills, you can take a professional skipper's help or be assigned one for the whole charter at an extra charge. If you don't want to skipper yourself, you can name another skipper before the charter starts, and that person shares responsibility with you.
