Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver. Operator terms: Each yacht has kasko (hull) insurance and compulsory insurance for all passengers. Personal property of the skipper and crew is not insured, so separate insurance is recommended.

Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~40 HP engine burns roughly 3.2 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 67 L ≈ €125 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.

Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.

Please tell the base manager right away for instructions. If bad weather makes you late, you cover the resulting costs, so plan your route with some safety margin.

If the operator or base manager decides the skipper lacks the needed skills, you can take a professional skipper's help or be assigned one for the whole charter at an extra charge. If you don't want to skipper yourself, you can name another skipper before the charter starts, and that person shares responsibility with you.
