Frequently Asked Questions
Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver. Operator terms: All-risk insurance is included in the price. Optional insurance for the security deposit can be taken out at the operator's office.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~58 HP engines burn roughly 4.6 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 97 L ≈ €166 at €1.71/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Spain?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: A recognised sailing licence is required, with an ICC typically requested for non-Spanish skippers chartering a bareboat.
Can you pick us up from the airport?
Yes, we run our own transfer from the airport to our charter base. Just request it when you book.
What's included in the charter price, and what should I budget for on top?
Your price includes all-risk insurance, VAT, end cleaning, sheets, blankets, pillows and the equipment on the boat's inventory list. Fuel, moorings and food supplies are not included, and you'll need to bring your own towels.
Can I hire a skipper?
Yes, you can add a skipper for 150 per day on a monohull or 180 per day on a catamaran, plus their provisioning. Please request this when you book.
Do I have to clean the boat before I hand it back?
No, end cleaning is already included in your charter price, so you can enjoy your last day without scrubbing the boat.
Can I add extras like a SUP or a gennaker?
Yes, we offer a gennaker for 100 per week, a parasailor for 200 per week and a SUP for 90 per week. Outboard engines are also available, with prices on our price list.
