Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The yacht has kasko (hull) insurance and obligatory insurance for all passengers. The personal property of the skipper and crew is not insured, so separate insurance is recommended.

Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. Estimated from engine power: at a typical planing cruise this boat's 440 HP engine burns roughly 66 L/h — about €123 an hour at €1.87/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.

Not personally — a skipper is included with this boat and holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.

If we or the base manager decide the skipper lacks the required skills, you'll need to take a professional skipper on board at an extra charge. If you don't want to skipper yourself, you can name another skipper before sailing, and that person shares responsibility with you towards us.

Please tell the base manager immediately if you can't continue sailing or will miss your return time. Any extra costs from a weather delay are yours, so we suggest planning your route with some margin.

A delay of up to 3 hours costs the price of a daily charter. Beyond 3 hours, you pay triple the daily charter fee. Returning the boat to a different port than agreed is treated the same way.
