About this boat

TAILOR-MADE CRUISE! Come and discover Southern Corsica and Northern Sardinia aboard Shamane, a 14.5m Fountaine Pajot catamaran. Sail with our skipper, who knows the region inside out. He will guide you to its hidden treasures: Bonifacio, Santa Giulia, the Lavezzi Islands, the Maddalena Archipelago in Sardinia, deserted coves, and the stunning anchorages of Southern Corsica. Departing from Porto-Vecchio means enjoying more favorable weather, thanks to its natural protection from the frequent westerly winds that affect Corsica’s west coast. YOUR PROGRAM? You decide! Our 14.5m catamaran offers the highest level of comfort, with 4 double cabins 2 single berths, and 4 private bathrooms (8 berths total). The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, a 4-burner gas stove, and a large refrigerator. Entirely self-sufficient with solar panels and a watermaker, you can disconnect from the world and enjoy a truly unique retreat. Our skipper will also be delighted to introduce you to, or help you perfect, your sailing skills. Departures: Saturdays for 7 or 14 days, from the dock in the turquoise bay of Saint Cyprien (near Porto-Vecchio), only 20 minutes from Figari airport. Flights to Figari are very frequent. Boarding between 3:00–4:30 PM, return on Friday at 5:00 PM. OUR PARTNERS Grocery delivery: Order your provisions online and have them delivered directly to the dock. Transfers: Our partner Alexis can pick you up at the airport or ferry terminal and bring you right to the catamaran (price to be arranged). HAVE QUESTIONS? Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Passengers should contract supplementary insurance. Passenger is self-insurer for damages from other passengers.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~110 HP engines burn roughly 8.8 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 185 L ≈ €361 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in France?
No formal licence is legally required to skipper a bareboat sailing yacht, though charter companies expect a sailing résumé and usually an ICC or equivalent.
Can we bring our pet on board?
Unfortunately no. No animals are allowed aboard, even small ones.
What does the skipper do, and will the crew cook and clean for us?
Your skipper handles the sailing and navigation, and on most trips everyone aboard pitches in with life on board, including preparing meals, washing up and tidying. If a hostess is aboard, she takes care of the meals while you handle the provisioning.
Can we learn to sail during the cruise?
Yes. On request, the skipper is happy to give you a sailing introduction so you can discover or improve your manoeuvres while you explore Corsica and the surrounding waters.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Your skipper may decide not to sail in poor weather, and can change the planned route for safety or force majeure. No compensation is due even if bad weather lasts the whole charter, as your safety always comes first.
Is smoking allowed on board?
Smoking is not permitted inside the boat. You may smoke only in the outdoor cockpit and at anchor, provided no one is bothered, and please never throw anything overboard.
