Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Recommended to take out travel cancellation insurance and deposit insurance
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~1000 HP engine burn roughly 80 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 1680 L ≈ €3142 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my pet on board?
Pets are welcome only with our written consent, so please ask us before you book.
Where am I allowed to sail?
Use of the boat is limited to Croatian waters. Leaving this area requires our written consent in advance.
Are there weather limits on when I can leave port?
Yes. Please don't leave a sheltered harbour when winds of 7 Beaufort or more are announced. Plan your trip so the boat can return to its home port even in bad weather.
Do you check the skipper's experience?
The skipper must have proper seamanship and enough experience to handle the yacht. If you or your skipper lack the required competence, we reserve the right to refuse handover or to provide a skipper at your expense.
What's expected when I return the boat?
Please return the boat clean and tidy, with full fuel tanks and an empty holding tank (emptied at least 2 nautical miles offshore), in the same condition as at handover. Otherwise refuelling, pump-out and cleaning are charged from the deposit.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
