Frequently Asked Questions
Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. At a typical planing cruise this boat's 1600 HP engine burn roughly 240 L/h — about €468 an hour at €1.95/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
Is the yacht crewed?
Yes, the yacht is offered for crewed charters with a captain who handles the sailing for you.
Will the captain share our living space?
No. The captain has his own cabin and bathroom outside the guest living area, so you keep your privacy on board.
How many guests can the yacht take?
The yacht can accommodate up to 11 passengers, and that maximum applies to daily charters only.
Do we have to keep stopping at harbours for fresh water?
No. The yacht has a watermaker, so you don't need to head into a harbour for water, giving you more flexibility in planning your route.
Can you arrange airport transfers and pick-up from different marinas?
Yes. We can arrange transfers to and from the airport, and while the yacht is based at Marina Zea, pick-up from other Athens marinas is possible. One-way charters can also be arranged.
When is the best time to sail in Greece?
April–October, hot and dry with the strong northerly Meltemi wind peaking in July–August, especially across the Cyclades.
