Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Vessel insured for third-party liability and damage. Hull insurance at original value with EUR 2,000.00 deductible per incident.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~110 HP engine burn roughly 8.8 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 185 L ≈ €278 at €1.50/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Turkey?
No licence is required by Turkish law, but charter companies require proof of competence such as an ICC or RYA Day Skipper certificate.
What can the boat be used for?
The vessel is for recreational use only. Commercial use, subletting, racing and any modifications are not allowed, and you'll need to comply with all maritime laws and our safety guidelines.
What happens if we bring our own skipper?
If you provide your own skipper, they must present a valid sailing licence and show they're competent. We reserve the right to deny departure if we consider the skipper unqualified.
What does the skipper do if you provide one?
If we provide a skipper, they run the boat and you'll need to follow all their instructions for safety and operation.
What should we do if the boat is damaged during our trip?
Give us immediate notice of any damage. If the boat can still sail, we'll ask you to bring it back 24 hours before the agreed end so we can repair it; for serious damage, contact us at once and follow our instructions.
When is the best time to sail in Turkey?
April–October along the Turquoise Coast (Bodrum, Göcek, Fethiye); hot, dry summers with gentle afternoon breezes ideal for cruising.
