About this boat

Out of Split, the islands sit a short hop apart, so you can be tied up at a town quay with dinner ashore most nights. The maestral builds by midday at force 3-4 and fades by evening, so crossings stay gentle and unhurried.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The Vessel is insured under the Operator's insurance company's conditions. Insured damage that is not reported immediately to the insurer is not recognised, and the Charterer is then personally liable for the full damage.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. Estimated from engine power: at a typical planing cruise this boat's 2× 300 HP engines burn roughly 90 L/h — about €168 an hour at €1.87/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my dog or other pet on board?
Sorry, no. Pets of any kind, including dogs, cats and birds, are not allowed aboard.
Are there limits on how I can use the boat?
Yes. You can't sublet or lend the boat, enter regattas or races, use it commercially (including fishing for profit or sailing school), charge others for transport, or tow another vessel. You also need to keep out of restricted areas.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You need to stay within Croatian territorial waters. Going anywhere else requires a written permit from the operator.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
You shouldn't leave port or anchorage if the wind is or is forecast to be over Beaufort 7 (about 30 knots), if visibility is poor, or if harbour authorities have banned sailing. We ask you to sail only in safe weather conditions.
What should I do if something breaks or an accident happens?
Tell us immediately and, after an accident, record what happened and get a written certificate from a harbour master, physician or official. Get our consent before arranging any repair. Repairs for normal wear and tear are refunded against receipts at the end of the charter.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
