About this boat

The maestral fills in around midday at force 3-4 and fades by evening, so mornings stay easy and sails come with a town quay at the end. Short hops behind the island chain suit a family or two couples, first-timers included.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The operator insures the vessel with first-class insurers against all risks, including third-party liability and permission to charter. Cover follows the option the charterer chose (deductible or damage waiver).
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~40 HP engine burns roughly 3.2 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 67 L ≈ €125 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I sail at night?
No. We don't allow sailing after dusk, so plan to be moored up before dark each day.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
You shouldn't leave harbor if winds over force 6 are blowing or forecast, or if port authorities have banned navigation. We may also give you routing instructions in bad weather, and we ask you to follow them.
What sailing experience does my crew need?
The person operating the boat must be experienced, licensed where applicable, and competent with this type of vessel. You'll also fill in an online Sailing Resume. If we think your crew's experience falls short, we may modify or cancel the charter, or offer an approved skipper at your expense if one is available.
What should I do if something breaks during my charter?
Contact us before paying for outside repairs, unless waiting would risk injury or serious damage. Keep every invoice and receipt, and we'll reimburse approved repair costs when you return or as soon as possible. Try to avoid being towed, and if it can't be avoided, agree the price with the other captain first.
Are there limits on how I can use the boat?
Yes. The boat can't be used commercially, so no carrying paying passengers, professional fishing, or lending or renting it out. Regattas are only allowed if we've approved them, and approved ones may carry a surcharge and a higher security deposit.
