Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: Vessel insurance covers all maritime risks and includes mandatory third-party insurance. Damage not reported immediately to the operator or the insurer is not covered, and the client is then responsible for all damage.

Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~54 HP engine burns roughly 4.3 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 90 L ≈ €172 at €1.91/L — scale it to your own plans.

A boating licence (Båtførerbevis or recognised equivalent such as an ICC including coastal navigation) is required for vessels over 8 m or 25 HP.

You must stay within Norwegian territorial waters. Two days before the charter ends, plan to be at a turn-around point no more than 40 nautical miles from the return port.

You must not leave a port or anchorage when wind is or is forecast to be over 25 knots, or when the harbour authorities have banned sailing. If bad weather makes you return late, you are responsible for the standard late charges.

Your named skipper must be an experienced adult sailor of 18 or older. We may check the skipper's competence at handover, and if it isn't satisfactory they can't take the boat out. We also need your crew list a week before the charter.

You can't sublet the boat or use it commercially, for example for professional fishing or diving. It's for private chartering within Norwegian waters.

Tell us straight away on the mobile numbers in your sailing documents, whatever the cause. We aim to repair reported damage within 24 hours. Please also check the engine oil and water every day.
