Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Charterer responsible for all damage not covered by insurance, including gross negligence
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~57 HP engine burn roughly 4.6 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 97 L ≈ €181 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Do you check our sailing experience?
Yes. You'll complete a sailing resume, and if we feel your or your crew's experience is insufficient, we may require you to take an approved skipper at your expense or modify the charter. Only a qualified person may operate the boat.
Are there limits on how many people I can have aboard?
You may only carry up to the number of passengers allowed by the boat's safety rules. You can't carry passengers for pay, transport merchandise, or run any commercial activity such as professional fishing.
Can I take part in a regatta?
You may only join select regattas that we have approved in advance, which may carry a surcharge and a higher security deposit. Taking part in unapproved regattas is strictly prohibited.
Are there weather or night-sailing restrictions?
Please don't leave port in winds over force 6, or when this is forecast, when authorities have banned navigation, or when the boat or crew condition is unsafe. Sailing after dusk is not allowed, and you should follow any routing instructions we give in bad weather.
What should I do if the boat has a problem during the charter?
Notify us before paying for any outside assistance, unless waiting would risk injury or serious damage, and keep all receipts so we can reimburse approved repairs. Avoid being towed if at all possible, and if towing is unavoidable, agree the price with the other captain first.
