Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver. Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.

We reserve the right to require that you hire a professional skipper if your sailing skills are judged insufficient. One crew member must be able to demonstrate their competence as skipper, and the local Port Authority approves qualifications on the day of departure.

A Day Skipper certificate may be rejected by the Greek Port Authority, so we strongly advise you to obtain an International Certificate of Competence (ICC) before your trip. Holders of a Day Skipper certificate can usually get an ICC from their issuing association with a simple application.
