Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver. Operator terms: Owner insures yacht and equipment against fire, marine, collision risks, third party damage and loss or damage in excess of stated insurance excess amount. Charterer relieved of liability covered by policy except if caused by gross negligence or willful default.

Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~90 HP engines burn roughly 7.2 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 151 L ≈ €294 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.

Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.

Your party should include at least one qualified skipper and one experienced crew member, and may not exceed the yacht's maximum allowed persons. Only people on the crew manifest may be aboard.

The yacht is for your private pleasure only, so no racing, no towing other craft except in emergencies, and no subletting. You must stay within the agreed cruising area and not take her beyond it without our written consent.

Please don't set out if the wind is, or is forecast to be, over Beaufort force 6, if the authorities have banned sailing, if any vital part such as the engine, rigging or safety gear isn't working, or whenever conditions make safety doubtful.

Plan so you reach your farthest port of call within the first third of the charter, and so that two days before the end you're within 40 nautical miles of the return point. Please keep the yacht's log book up to date each day.

Yes. We may ask you and your crew to demonstrate that you can handle the yacht safely by taking her out with us aboard. If we're not satisfied, we can place an experienced sailor on board at your cost for as long as we feel is needed for safety.
