Frequently Asked Questions
Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Vessel is insured according to insurer's terms which form integral part of charter terms. Damage must be reported to Greenhouse Adriatic without deferral.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~90 HP engines burn roughly 7.2 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 151 L ≈ €282 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my pet on board?
Pets such as dogs, cats and birds are not allowed on the vessel unless you arrange it with us in advance. Please ask before booking if you would like to bring an animal along.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You may sail within the territorial waters of Croatia. Cruising outside this area is only possible with our written approval, so let us know if you have plans further afield.
Are there any restrictions on how I use the boat?
The boat is for private leisure use only. You may not take part in regattas or races, sub-charter or lend it, use it commercially or for fishing, tow other vessels, or operate it under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
Please sail only in safe conditions and good visibility. You should not leave port or anchorage if the wind is, or is expected to be, over 30 knots, or if the port authorities have prohibited sailing.
Do you check that we can handle the boat?
We or our representative may ask you and your crew to demonstrate your sailing ability at sea before departure. If we feel the experience is not sufficient, we may assign a skipper to operate the vessel, at your cost.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
