About this boat

The LAGOON 42 distinguishes itself as arguably the most successful catamaran from the esteemed French shipyard, thanks largely to its elegant design and impressively roomy interiors for a vessel of its size. Our LAGOON 42's layout will please sailing enthusiasts, boasting controls that are notably simple: a self-tacking genoa and a half-height, elevated helm station located on the flybridge. The flybridge, featuring a spacious double sunbed, provides the perfect retreat for sun lovers to relax throughout the day. Meanwhile, at the bow, a snug "U" shaped seating area seamlessly integrates with the wide traditional bow nets, delivering breathtaking ocean views. LIVING AREA The Lagoon 42 catamaran features a traditional layout with two distinct 'sea' zones: one located at the bow, equipped with a double net and a sofa, and another at the stern, featuring the cockpit that seamlessly connects at the front to an impressive lounge area. This design offers an exceptional living space that includes an indoor lounge with a spacious table and ample seating including sofas, a practical U-shaped kitchen, and a dedicated corner for the chart table. Outside, there's an additional table that seats eight, complemented by a lengthy L-shaped sofa and comfortable folding chairs, as well as an aft sofa and a double-drawer refrigerator.  A large retractable French window blurs the line between interior and exterior spaces. The kitchen boasts a full 360-degree view and is equipped with three burners, a gas oven, a microwave, a coffee machine, and an extra cockpit refrigerator with a freezer compartment. SLEEPING AREA The most remarkable aspect is clearly the superior quality and comfort of the cabins: their interiors reveal a refined, stylish, and functional layout. Each of the four double cabins offers ample space, with the front cabins now featuring spacious and snug double beds, just like those at the back. Outstanding onboard living is guaranteed through careful workmanship and built-in LED illumination, complemented by the complete installation of fans in every cabin and the lounge area. OUTDOOR SPACES The bow features a classic design: an expansive double net provides an ideal space for those who enjoy close interaction with the sea (perfect also for children’s play) while still allowing guests to savor an aperitif on the cozy sofas located just behind the nets.  In the FLY section, you'll find a plush sunbed designed for two!  The vessel is further equipped with an impressive 100-liter-per-hour WATERMAKER, a highly efficient INVERTER, SOLAR PANELS, and four bathrooms each outfitted with electric toilets and showers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~114 HP engines burn roughly 9.1 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 191 L ≈ €372 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Italy?
The skipper needs a valid sailing licence and VHF certificate, ideally issued by their country of residence (an ICC is widely accepted).
