Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver. Operator terms: All boats are insured against all risks arising from third-party liability and damage to hull, machinery, sea pollution liability and equipment. The insurance has a deductible (excess) equal to the agreed security damage deposit paid by the charterer.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~114 HP engines burn roughly 9.1 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 191 L ≈ €372 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
Can I add a skipper or a cook to my charter?
Yes, we can provide a skipper or a cook as optional extras, charged per day plus VAT and provisioning. Please note that any crew member needs their own cabin.
Do I have to clean the boat before I hand it back?
End cleaning is not included in the charter price, but we can take care of it for a fee that depends on the size of the yacht. It does not apply on fully crewed yachts.
Can I have food and drinks on board when we arrive?
Yes, provisions can be pre-ordered with no extra service fee. Just ask us for our provisioning list form before your trip.
What happens if I return the boat late?
Your security deposit is held against the possibility of late redelivery, among other things. To avoid any issues, plan to be back in time for the check-out procedure.
What should I do if something goes wrong during my charter?
Our staff are available on a 24-hour helpline throughout your charter, so you can call us at any time for assistance.
