Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver. Operator terms: The owner has a comprehensive policy covering damage to the boat, its accessories and engine, total and partial theft, hijacking, and third-party civil liability (material and bodily harm). The premium is included in the rental price.

Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~90 HP engines burn roughly 7.2 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 151 L ≈ €219 at €1.45/L — scale it to your own plans.

Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: Requirements vary by state and operator; no national sailing licence exists, so charter companies rely on a detailed sailing résumé (some states require a boater education card).

The boat is for pleasure sailing only. Commercial use, professional fishing, transport, regattas, subletting and lending it to others are not allowed, and you would be liable for any fines or confiscation that result.

In the Caribbean, Seychelles and Polynesia, night sailing is strictly forbidden unless we give you a special written waiver beforehand. Elsewhere, the terms do not set this restriction.

We can refuse to hand over the boat if the skipper or crew don't appear competent, even if you hold certificates or permits. In that case you can either pay for a professional skipper or the contract is cancelled without refund.

Only the authorized number of persons for the boat may be on board. Anyone under 18 needs written authorization from a parent or guardian.

For minor wear-and-tear problems you can repair or replace items straight away if the cost is no more than 10% of the security deposit, and keep the invoice for reimbursement on return if it wasn't your fault. For bigger repairs, contact us first.
