Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?

Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Security Deposit Insurance is mandatory for skippered charters. All boats are insured against risks arising from liability to third parties, damage to hull/machinery/equipment, third party liability, and sea pollution liability.

Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?

Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.

What sailing qualifications do we need on board?

One crew member must present an appropriate sailing certificate to the Port Authority as skipper, and one experienced crew member must be declared co-skipper. We recommend an International Certificate of Competence, as Day Skipper certificates can be rejected by the Port Authority.

What if our qualifications aren't accepted?

Qualifications are approved by the local Port Authority on the day of departure. If your sailing skills or certification are deemed insufficient, we reserve the right to require that you hire a professional skipper.

Can we add a skipper or cook to our charter?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A professional skipper or a hostess/cook can be arranged as an optional crew service, each charged per day plus their provisioning.

When do we need to return to base?

Accepted Answer

You must return to the re-delivery base the evening before disembarkation, by 18:00 at the latest. Check-in and check-out procedures are part of the charter period.
