Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Chartered yacht is insured against third party damage, fire, lightning, explosion, theft, robbery, natural disasters, marine and collision risks, and loss/damage except as expressed in contract. Insurance premium is included in charter price or separately charged.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. This boat's ~150 HP engines burn roughly 12 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 252 L ≈ €471 at €1.87/L — scale it to your own plans. Many skippers run one engine on passage to roughly halve fuel use — ask your operator if that’s fine for your boat.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can we bring a pet on board?
Pets are welcome only with our express prior permission, so please ask us before you book if you'd like to bring an animal along.
Are there any restrictions on how we can use the boat?
The boat is for your own pleasure use only. You may not carry paying passengers, fish commercially, take part in races, re-charter the boat, or tow or be towed except in a genuine emergency.
What happens if rough weather is forecast?
You're expected to follow good seamanship at all times, leaving harbour only when conditions allow and moving off exposed anchorages if the weather makes it necessary.
Can we sail anywhere we like, including at night?
We may limit the boat's cruising range or place a ban on sailing at night, depending on the vessel and conditions. Any responsibility for ignoring these limits rests with you.
What should we do if something breaks while we're sailing?
Please contact us right away. For minor wear-and-tear repairs up to 100 euros you can arrange the work yourself and we'll refund it on production of the bill, provided the damage wasn't caused by misuse.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
