About this boat

A big group gets room to spread out on a steady platform, with the Saronic's islands only a few hours apart. The Meltemi arrives much weaker than in the Cyclades, and a town and taverna are waiting each evening.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The Owner insures the Yacht and her equipment against fire, marine and collision risks, third party damage and other loss or damage. The Charterer is relieved of liability covered by the policy, unless the loss or damage is caused or contributed to by gross negligence or willful…
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~58 HP engines burn roughly 4.6 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 97 L ≈ €189 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You must stay within the Greek seas. You are also asked to plan your route so you reach your farthest port within the first third of the charter, and to be within 40 nautical miles of the return point two days before the end.
Can I sail in strong winds or bad weather?
You shouldn't leave port or anchorage if the wind is or is forecast to be over Beaufort 6, or if the harbour authorities ban sailing. The same applies if the weather, the boat or your crew make safety doubtful. At night you need all navigation lights working and a proper watch on deck.
What sailing experience does my crew need?
The boat is chartered without crew, so your group needs at least one qualified skipper and one experienced crew member. We may ask you to show your skills at sea with us aboard before you set off. If it doesn't go well, we can end the charter or add a seaman at your cost.
How many people can come aboard, and what can I use the boat for?
Only the people on your crew/passenger manifest can be aboard, up to the maximum in the yacht's documents. The boat is for your party's private pleasure only. Racing, towing other boats (except in an emergency) and subletting without our written consent are not allowed.
What should I do if something breaks during my charter?
Contact us before arranging any repair so we can approve it. You pay for damage that isn't normal wear, while repairs for normal wear are refunded against receipts at the end. After any accident, ask the nearest Port Authority for a written record and tell us at the same time.
