Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. You can lower the deposit by adding the operator’s damage waiver.
Do I need a sailing licence in France?
No formal licence is legally required to skipper a bareboat sailing yacht, though charter companies expect a sailing résumé and usually an ICC or equivalent.
About Bonifacio
Tucked into the dramatic limestone cliffs at Corsica's southern tip, Bonifacio Marina sits within the Réserve Naturelle des Bouches de Bonifacio, making it one of the most scenically striking ports in the entire Mediterranean. Read more →
When is the best time to sail in France?
April–October on the Riviera and Corsica; warm summers with the gusty Mistral funnelling down the Gulf of Lion in spring and autumn.
