Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Guest responsible for damages not covered by deposit, including deliberate acts or gross negligence
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. At a typical planing cruise this boat's 300 HP engine burn roughly 45 L/h — about €84 an hour at €1.87/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my pet on board?
Pets are not allowed on the craft.
Is smoking allowed on the boat?
Smoking below deck is forbidden. Please keep any smoking to the open deck areas.
What can the boat not be used for?
You may not use the craft to carry passengers commercially, for commercial fishing, for racing without our agreement, or to tow other vessels except in an emergency. Rechartering the boat is not permitted.
Could my skipper be turned away at check-in?
Yes. We may decline to hand over the craft if, during check-in or a trial run, it becomes clear the skipper does not have the qualifications to operate the vessel safely.
What should I do if something breaks down during the charter?
Contact us at once. For minor wear-and-tear faults you may arrange a repair yourself up to 100 euros and be reimbursed against the bill; for any serious damage or accident you must inform us immediately and follow our instructions.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
