Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: Yachts have full comprehensive insurance and third-party liability, with a deductible for damage above a vessel-specific limit. The charterer may buy damage-waiver (deposit) insurance separately, but the full deposit must still be paid at the base.

Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: For bareboat charters the skipper needs a sailing licence issued by a recognised governmental organisation and an SRC/LRC radio certificate.

No. Sailing is only allowed between 6 AM and 6 PM, so you need to be moored or anchored before 6 PM. Sailing at night is forbidden.

Bad weather is not accepted as a reason for a late return, so please plan your route with some margin. If you return late, we charge twice the daily rate of the charter fee for each day of delay. In hurricane periods you must listen to the daily VHF forecast and head straight for the nearest shelter if a warning is announced.

Your skipper must send a nautical CV and have it approved by us, and they must have experience suited to your sailing plan. If we have doubts, we may ask for a short manoeuvring test in the marina before you set off. If it goes badly, you can take a 2-hour training session for 100 EUR or hire one of our skippers at 100 EUR per day.

The boat is for yachting only. Commercial use, professional fishing and carrying paying passengers are not allowed. Drugs are forbidden on board, and so is using the yacht under the influence of alcohol or strong medication. Fishing and discharging waste are also not allowed in National Parks.

First follow the instructions from check-in and check the yacht's manual, then call our base if that doesn't help and we'll talk you through it or send someone. For normal wear and tear you can arrange minor repairs yourself, up to 5% of the deposit, and we reimburse them against invoices. For anything bigger, call us first.
