Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: Every vessel has compulsory and casco insurance with a deductible, third-party liability insurance and personal accident insurance, subject to the insurer's conditions. Insurance does not cover items brought aboard or damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Can I bring my dog on board?
Pets aren't allowed on the boat unless we've given you prior written consent. Please ask us before booking if you'd like to bring one.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You can sail within Croatian territorial waters. If you'd like to go abroad temporarily and the boat has the right permits, let us know at least 30 days before your charter so we can prepare the documents.
Can I sail at night or in strong wind?
Night sailing isn't allowed. If winds of 25 knots or more are forecast, or we warn you about bad weather, you should stay moored at a safe berth. Sailing out despite a warning can make you liable for any damage.
Will you check that my skipper is experienced enough?
Yes, we may ask your skipper to show their sailing skills to one of our representatives at handover, and that time counts as charter time. If the skipper doesn't pass or has no valid licence, we can stop departure or offer a professional skipper at your cost. If you decline a professional skipper, we end the contract with no refund.
What should I do if something breaks during my charter?
Tell us right away. We'll fix defects from normal wear within 24 hours, or offer a replacement boat or a price reduction. You can pay for small wear-and-tear repairs up to EUR 70 yourself and we'll reimburse you on invoice, and larger repairs need our prior approval.
