Frequently Asked Questions
Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. You're only responsible for damage it doesn't cover, and that's capped at the security deposit. Operator terms: Client financially responsible for damages not related to normal wear and tear
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. At a typical planing cruise this boat's 200 HP engine burn roughly 30 L/h — about €56 an hour at €1.87/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.
Do I need a sailing licence in Croatia?
At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.
Does the boat come with a full fuel tank at the start?
Yes. We hand the boat over technically sound, clean and with a full fuel tank, ready for you to set off.
What's covered while the boat is moored at the home base?
Mooring at our base marina is included. Mooring fees and port taxes at other harbours during your trip are paid by you as you go.
Can I transfer my booking to someone else if my plans change?
Only with our written and confirmed permission. If you find a replacement renter for the same dates and terms, we may charge for the administrative costs of the change.
When is the best time to sail in Croatia?
May–October, with the most reliable maestral winds and warm seas in June–September; July–August are the hottest and busiest.
