Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: Each yacht has kasko (hull) insurance and compulsory insurance for all passengers. Personal property of the skipper and crew is not insured, so separate insurance is recommended.

Fuel isn't included, and on a powerboat it's the biggest variable cost. Estimated from engine power: at a typical planing cruise this boat's 380 HP engine burns roughly 57 L/h — about €107 an hour at €1.87/L. It depends heavily on speed: easing off the throttle cuts it sharply, running flat out raises it. Plan your fuel around the hours and speed you expect to cruise.

At least one crew member must hold a recognised sailing licence (ICC or national equivalent) plus a VHF/SRC radio operator certificate, both checked on arrival.

Please tell the base manager right away for instructions. If bad weather makes you late, you cover the resulting costs, so plan your route with some safety margin.

If the operator or base manager decides the skipper lacks the needed skills, you can take a professional skipper's help or be assigned one for the whole charter at an extra charge. If you don't want to skipper yourself, you can name another skipper before the charter starts, and that person shares responsibility with you.
