Avlemonas

Avlemonas is widely called the 'jewel of Kythira', and once you drop anchor and see the lime-washed cottages tumbling down to crystal-clear water, it's easy to see why. The little harbour village has a magnetic, almost-too-pretty-to-be-real quality, with quaint tavernas and a Venetian fortress keeping watch overhead. It's one of the most photographed spots in all of Greece, so don't be surprised if you feel like you've sailed into a postcard.
