Baie Hakahetau
✨ Hidden gem
Hakahetau Bay sits on the western side of Ua Pou, offering one of the most dramatic backdrops in the Marquesas — the island's famous volcanic pitons (razor-sharp rock spires) looming above as you drop anchor. It's a quieter, more settled spot than the main anchorage at Hakahau, with generally calmer conditions and fewer boats. The small village ashore is worth the dinghy ride in for a look around.
