Cala del Core

Cala del Core sits on the eastern side of Ponza, near Frontone, and is worth dropping anchor for if only to spot the heart-shaped mark carved naturally into the rock face — the quirky detail that gives this cove its name ("Bay of the Heart"). The water is crystal clear over a sandy seabed, and the setting is quietly dramatic with the island's signature volcanic cliffs rising around you. It's a straightforward anchorage, nothing fancy, but the scenery and that one-of-a-kind rock formation make it a genuinely memorable stop.
