Grotta Bianca is one of Ponza's hand-carved sea caves, chiseled into the volcanic rock by the ancient Romans to use as fish farms and boat passages. You anchor off and hop in the water to swim right up to the cave entrance, where the white-streaked tuff walls glow against the turquoise sea.
